Xi Gamma Induction tomorrow!

Xi Gamma is very excited to be inducting new members and honoring those that have served their community tomorrow at 10am, Jubilee Hall Auditorium, SHU. Candidates need to report to Jubilee Hall Auditorium by 9:15am to check in, turn in their Initiate Forms (if not done already), and be placed in line for procession. Volunteers Needed - Louverture Career Day

East Orange School District is looking for volunteers to serve as speakers for Louverture Career Day Extravaganza on March 26, 2010 from 9am-12pm. Students attending are from grades 1-5. Volunteers would share with the students the type of work they are doing, what hobbies they have, etc. The goal si to have students become aware of the variety of careers available to them. Earn 5 KDP Honor Stole Points for attending: Doing Well While Ding Good: Non-Profit Careers February 23rd @ 5:15 PM Chancellor's Suite, University Center Debunk myths and learn about types of positions in non-profit organizations: Marketing and Public Relations, Event Planning, Development, Consulting, Management, State Government Members must sign the attendance sheet at the beginning of the program and stay in order to count the program for points.

Community Service Opp! Earn Honor Stole Points

The NJ ASK Saturday Program in Glenfield Middle School needs students who can dedicate 3-6 consecutive Saturdays from 8am -12pm. They are given breakfast every morning and they are assigned to reading, writing, or math depending on their strengths. The program consists of sitting with a small group of students for one-on-one help with an individual subject matter. The volunteers will be assigned to a particular teacher and stay there for the day. The class is about 15 minutes of lecturing and then the students break off into small groups to work individually with students based on what the teacher just taught. Community Service Opportunity!

Ecole Toussaint Louverture School in East Orange, NJ is holding its annual Career Day on Friday, April 3, 2009. The goal of Career Day is to have the students interact with a wide variety of professionals and occupational groups. This will create an understanding that will help them prepare for their future career. Louverture is currently seeking volunteers to serve as speakers for students in grades 1 to 5. The time commitment will be approximately 3 hours in the morning (9am-12pm). Speakers would share the type of work that is involved in their field.
